Today, Microsoft and Nissan announced a partnership aimed at the building of the next-generation dealer management system on the foundation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

The two companies will work together for creating a solution aimed at putting together dealer and customer relationship management, as well as social collaboration tools.

Through this system, Nissan expects to create stronger relations with its customers, while also being able to drive dealer sales and to increase its market share all around the world.

The new solution will be based on the Windows Azure platform, and will benefit from all of the features and capabilities that Microsoft’s public cloud offerings can deliver.

The new dealer management system is expected to be delivered to Nissan’s dealership networks in Japan and in some other important markets around the world, but should benefit from increased availability soon after.

The system will be flexible, offering the possibility to be customized for specific countries, regions of automotive manufacturer.

Nissan also announced plans to analyze the manner in which Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Windows Azure will be able to provide it with the ability to deploy applications across its worldwide network. The car maker is also interested in bringing its information architecture on the cloud.
