Microsoft and HP will announce later today the inking of a partnership over enterprise software. At the time of this article details were scarce to say the least. Neither Microsoft nor HP commented in any way the collaboration and representatives from both companies abstained from disclosing aspects of the agreement.

Microsoft did issue a press alert informing that the enterprise alliance with HP will be the subject of a press conference followed by a brief question-and-answer session. At the event executives from both companies will participate.

Kevin Turner, chief operating officer, Microsoft, Ann Livermore, executive vice president, Technology Solutions Group, HP, Peter Boit, vice president of Enterprise Partners, Enterprise and Partner Group, Microsoft and John McCain, senior vice president and general manager, HP Services, HP are the executives that will take part in the press conference announcing an enterprise agreement between Microsoft and HP.

Microsoft and HP enjoy a long lasting collaboration, focused on enterprise products but also in the consumer segment. In this regard HP was one of Microsoft's first partners supporting the Redmond Company's Media Center PC efforts.

For Microsoft's latest versions of flagship products, Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office System, HP worked in a close partnership with the Redmond Company over the developing and testing stages.

Today's press conference is expected to highlight the service aspect of an enterprise alliance. Of course we will bring you additional information as soon as it will be made available.
