The development team at Microsoft says that it currently has no plans to use the motion tracking and identification powers of the Kinect sensor to power personalized advertising that intrudes on a user.

Albert Penello, one of leaders preparing the launch of the next-gen console, says that his team has more pressing concerns linked to the upcoming launch.

He states on NeoGAF that "It was an interview done speculatively, and I’m not aware of any active work in this space. Second – if something like that ever happened, you can be sure it wouldn’t happen without the user having control over it. Period."

The data that Kinect uses to identify a user and log him in will not be transmitted to any third parties and even Microsoft will be unable to use it for other purposes.

The company is also making sure that the motion tracking system cannot be used by third parties in any inappropriate ways.
