Microsoft says that it has plans to modify its own digital pricing strategy for the Xbox One in the coming year, although the company is not yet ready to offer details on the changes.

In a Reddit thread, Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, the communications manager for the new home console, states, “We are way aware of this and many of the concerns of the community – we have some great stuff planned for Xbox One this year (and beyond.) As soon as we can share some of the goodness…we will :)”

Both Sony and Microsoft have announced complex initiatives to promote digitally distributed content on their new platforms.

But, at the moment, it’s still more attractive for most players to pick up their content in stores.

For the Xbox One, Microsoft even planned a full digital strategy, but it was dropped when potential customers rallied against it.
