Platform holder Microsoft announces that it will now launch the Xbox One home console on the Chinese market on September 29 of this year, after it delayed the initial date from September 23 without offering any clear explanation.

CVG quotes a statement from the company saying that it is aiming to make sure that it complies with all the regulations linked to platform launches and that it has a range of content ready for players to get as soon as the device is out.

The Xbox One will sell in China for 3,699 Yuan, which is about 600 dollars or 360 Euro, and there are plans to work with a wide array of local developers in order to deliver unique content for it and to make sure that big Western launches are completely localized.

The fact that both the Microsoft device and the PlayStation 4 from Sony are already offered via unofficial channels in the country might mean that the coming launch dates will have a smaller impact than many analysts predicted.

At the moment, the Xbox One needs to perform very well in the new territories in which it is being released, but also in North America, in order to close the sales gap that its rival has opened up.
