The two devices have managed to deliver 2.27 million units to gamers

Microsoft says that the new Xbox One home console is outpacing the older 360 in terms of sales on the United States market, despite the fact that the next-gen console is currently lagging behind the PlayStation 4 from Sony in terms of overall sales.

On the Xbox Wire, the company explains that, “Fans continue to show their excitement for new generation Xbox One games, with U.S. consumers purchasing an average of 2.7 games per console since launch.”

Microsoft says that the Xbox One and the 360 have combined forces to sell 2.27 million units in the United States in January.

The company also explains that since the new device was launched, in November, gamers have generated more than 2.6 billion in Gamerscore all over the world and they have unlocked more than 165 million Achievements.

The Xbox One is set to be launched in a number of new territories during the rest of the year.
