After developers have said that the development menu that can be accessed on the Xbox One should not be used because it can put the device in a boot loop, Microsoft has released an official statement regarding the matter.

The company tells Eurogamer that, "Changing the settings in this menu is only intended for developers for Xbox One, and this alone does not turn the console into a development kit. We strongly advise consumers against changing these settings as it could result in their Xbox One becoming unusable."

All those who have activated the developer mode can restore the setting of the Xbox One by selecting the Settings tab, then System and then Restore Factory Defaults.

Before the new platform was launched, Microsoft stated that all units could be turned into development and publishing platforms, but after the device was released, no more information about the feature was offered.
