The company's marketing exec promises to keep us entertained in LA

We all know that E3 shows are the best occasion for game developers to spoil us with super announcements - titles, consoles, controllers, all sorts of things can be first presented during the show. This year's E3 makes no exception, since the competition is getting tougher for the top firms and, compared to the previous years, the sums of money involved in the gaming industry are bigger and seem to have no plans to stop.

Microsoft is one of the companies that promise to keep us amazed during this year's E3, with marketing exec David Gosen saying, via an MCV interview, that "fantastic surprises" are coming. And, judging by the numerous rumors we've heard during recent times, we tend to believe him. What could Microsoft announce, then? Well, first of all, it would be the Wii-like motion controller for the Xbox (even though Gosen claims that MS can achieve everything it has planned "without a controller"). Then, we could have another Wii-like feature, the Xbox 360 Miis. Brand new game titles are expected to amaze us as well, with Lips and Forza 3 being the headliners of the big bang.

"It would be churlish of me to ruin the fantastic surprises awaiting everybody at E3," Gosen told MCV. "Clearly we'll use that to make a number of announcements. We place a huge amount of importance on R&D and innovation. We're always working on new things. And you'll continue to hear lots of things from us that we believe to be game-changing. But you'll just have to wait for those to be officially announced by us."

That last bit with "wait a little more" kind of confirms that at least some of the rumors are accurate. And if we have in mind the fact that David Gosen is the ex Nintendo Europe boss, it would seem natural for him to bring a few things from there, right? Not to mention the fact that Microsoft actually believes that Wii gamers will "graduate" to the Xbox 360.

In the end, we have nothing but rumor and speculation. The only certain thing is that the company will bring us some fantastic surprises and there's just a little more waiting to do.
