Microsoft confirms that it wants to increase its lead in the gaming scene with new products like Windows 10 or HoloLens, while improving existing things like the Xbox One console or the Xbox Live service, not to mention the recently acquired Minecraft franchise.

Microsoft has made quite a few big announcements recently, starting with a Windows 10-focused event last week, which shared more of the operating system's gaming traits, and continuing with the recent financial earnings statement, which confirmed that over 6 million Xbox units were shipped to retailers over the holiday season.

Microsoft is confident in its gaming future

Now, a new statement from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella appears, via DualShockers, in which he expresses the utmost optimism in regards to the gaming plans of the large corporation.

When you combine the Xbox One sales with the Windows 10 promises, you can see why Microsoft's executive is confident that the corporation's lead will expand in the future.

An important role, according to Nadella, will be played by the Xbox Live online service and its huge community, which will soon be bolstered with PC or tablet gamers through Windows 10.

"The vibrant social gaming community on Xbox Live will span Xbox, Windows PC, tablets and phones. With Windows 10 gamers on a PC, tablet or Xbox console can play together, and games on Xbox One can easily stream to a Windows 10 PC or tablet," he explains.

HoloLens will produce mind-blowing experiences

Nadella is also very confident in the potential of the HoloLens device, which can act as a mind-blowing way of interacting with games for newcomers and veterans.

"It’s also getting clear how games people love today will evolve to mindblowing experiences in the future, when designed for mixed reality that Windows 10 and Hololens create. Just imagine what’s possible with Minecraft. Gaming truly is a valuable part of millions of people’s lives, and Microsoft will excel and increase our lead."

Windows 10 doesn't have a concrete release date just yet, but a new version of its technical preview is available, complete with the expanded Xbox application.
