As odd as it may sound, a report says Microsoft really aims for this

Microsoft's Kinect motion tracking technology got a few games to its name, but nothing too fancy, though that doesn't seem to be stopping the company from shoving it forward.

Then again, 'into' may be a better word than 'forward' in this case, since Microsoft wants to put Kinect into TVs.

According to The Daily, the IT giant is working on getting the motion tracking solution licensed by TV manufacturers like VIZIO and Sony, regardless of how much of an interest conflict this can stir with the latter (Sony has its own game-related products and technologies to worry about).

If Microsoft does pull this off, its Kinect will end up in many homes, even in the absence of Xbox 360 game consoles.

It could even be an extra incentive for people to go ahead and buy one of those consoles actually.

Be sure not to assume this is really happening, though. No official word from Microsoft exists yet.
