At the start of April 2011 I told you about an upcoming Springboard Series Virtual Roundtable titled “Is Windows XP Good Enough?” The event took place last week, on April 14th, but a video of the discussion is available on demand from Microsoft.

Users need to navigate to this link and access the Springboard Series Virtual Roundtable focused on discussing whether Windows XP is still capable of satisfying the needs of customers, especially businesses, or whether it’s time to move on.

I shouldn’t have to tell you that the answer is obvious, at least as far as the Redmond company is concerned.

“With only 1085 days remaining till Windows XP reaches end of support, many people are asking the question, Is XP still good enough? Join us for a deep dive discussion into the reasons why XP no longer makes sense for many IT pros and their companies.

“We discuss the many tools and resources available to you to help make the switch to the most secure and flexible operating system we have ever offered,” revealed Microsoft Stephen L Rose.

I embedded a video at the bottom of the screen which will provide users a taste of the actual roundtable.

Of course, the discussion on whether customers should continue using Windows XP or make the jump to Windows 7 is a tad longer, but by all means certainly worth to watch.

I’ve personally talked with a number of business customers that upgraded to Windows 7 last year, and they could not have been happier with the move.

In fact, they showed little interest for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or for Windows vNext for that matter, arguing that Windows 7 RTM was good enough to allow them that.
