Microsoft's newly-appointed Windows boss, Julie Larson-Green, talked about Windows 8 and Windows Blue in a new blog post, only a few days after she was on stage at the Wired Business Conference.

More than one billion unique Windows computers are getting updates every single month, Larson-Green explained, without even counting the ones used by companies.

And in case you're wondering, people are choosing Windows because of a great mix of productivity and fun, she said.

“We know people choose Windows because it’s important to their lives and their businesses. They trust and rely on Windows for serious productivity and more and more serious fun. We are proud to keep evolving Windows in a way that brings forward over 25 years of computing and to create the platform for tomorrow,” she explained.

The Windows boss then goes on to explain that learning is an essential process whenever a significantly-changed operating system hits the market, as it's the case with Windows 8.
