Microsoft has just simplified the Skype user registration process by allowing new users to simply sign in with their official account credentials to quickly start running the VoIP client.

This is a gradual rollout process, Microsoft said, so these days only a few users might actually get it.

“Starting today, some new Skype users will use a Microsoft account to register for Skype – either with an existing Microsoft account or by creating a new one.

“A Microsoft account is an email address and password registered with Microsoft – if you use services like Outlook.com, Xbox, or SkyDrive, you’re one of the more than 700 million people worldwide who already have one,” the company said.

Microsoft has promised to continue improving the overall experience with Skype, so expect even more new options to be added to the VoIP platform in the coming weeks.
