Last week, Microsoft announced that it would enable Xbox One owners to purchase games directly from the SmartGlass application for Windows Phone devices.

The update that includes this feature dropped in Windows Phone Store on August 19 and it’s now available to all Xbox One SmartGlass users who live in those countries where the application is up for download.

Today, Microsoft is back with yet another update for its Xbox One SmartGlass application, that promises to bring important new features and lots of improvements.

More importantly, the latest update has been pushed to all Xbox One SmartGlass app versions, including Android, iOS and Windows Phone. However, the changelog for all three platforms seems to be identical, but with a few exceptions.

Just like the last week’s update, the latest one includes some major features for Xbox One users, such as the ability to record game clips.

In addition, Microsoft announces that the TV and OneGuide are now available in new markets, though no further details have been shared on the matter, so there’s no telling which countries the company added to the list of supported region for Xbox One SmartGlass app.

Considering the high amount of new social features added to this update, it’s safe to say that Microsoft is trying to build a solid community around its Xbox One SmartGlass app.

With the newest version of Xbox One SmartGlass, users will be able to share and post activity feed items, but they will also be able to post status updates to their activity feed.

Other new features that made it in the update include the option to see your activity feed on your profile, as well as the possibility of displaying messages in a new conversation view. You will now be able to see all the release and feature notes directly from within the application.

Last but not least, developers have confirmed that they have included some general stability and polish improvements, as well as bug fixes, but these have yet to be detailed.

Aside from the stability improvements, visual enhancements and bug fixes which appear only on the Windows Phone changelog, all the other new features seem to appear in all three versions of Xbox One SmartGlass (Android, iOS and Windows Phone).

You can now download Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone, Android and iOS for free. Make sure that your device meets the minimum requirements before attempting to download and install the application.
