Apple has no intention to release a Windows 8 version of its iTunes software, so Microsoft has decided to bring some features of the popular multimedia player on its newest operating system.

The company today released a major update for Xbox Music that brings not only bug fixes, but also support for iTunes playlists.

In addition, you can now type to search anywhere in the app, while new features let you view your collection of music stored in the cloud or on your PC. This build also packs options to change the app volume and save or edit playlists of your now-playing music.

Additional minor fixes have also been implemented, so expect Xbox Music to load and run a bit faster on both Windows 8 and Windows RT.
