Microsoft is now giving the final touches to the existing Windows 8 Metro Apps before the public launch of Windows 8.1 Preview on June 26.

Minesweeper, Solitaire, and Mahjong have all received improvements this morning, so updates for each of the three should now be displayed in the Windows Store.

As we can all see in the release notes, the games have been enhanced with code optimizations, which means that they should now run smoother on Windows 8, while also being expected to be more resource friendly on the upcoming Windows 8.1.

The preview version of Windows 8.1 will be unveiled on June 26 during the BUILD developer conference and in addition to many other improvements, it will also come with a few new Metro apps, including a calculator and the so-called Movie Moments tool.
