14 DAY TRIAL // Just after having confirmed that the next Windows 10 for phones technical preview would ship on Friday at 10 AM PT, Microsoft announced a couple of bug fixes for the PC version of the upcoming operating system that are supposed to fix two widespread bugs in build 10049.
The two updates are labeled as KB3053902 and KB3053898 and are delivered through the usual Windows Update channel that brings us fixes and patches in all the other Windows versions.
KB3053902 is supposed to fix a bug in Outlook that might cause the email client not to index new emails, which is obviously a pretty critical issue for those who want to use Windows 10 as their main driver (although that shouldn’t happen, given the fact that it’s still in development).
“After installing Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10049, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 16 Preview might not index new emails. As a result, new emails do not appear in search results, and if you rebuild the index, no emails appear in search results,” Microsoft says in the description of the patch.
The second one is aimed at Hyper-V, as Microsoft was aware of a bug that blocked this feature from getting enabled in build 10049 no matter if users installed a clean build or the update.
Still no official ISOs
Those who were expecting stand-alone ISOs for build 10049 might have to wait a little bit longer because Microsoft is not yet ready to release this particular version to the slow ring.
The company usually launches new Windows 10 ISOs whenever they are ready for the slow ring, which means that there are fewer bugs and the operating system itself is more reliable and stable.
Right now, Windows 10 build 10049 is still available for fast ring users exclusively, and there are no details as to when it could be released to slow ring insiders as well.
