Patch Tuesday brought us another set of improvements for Surface RT tablets, only a few weeks before the public preview of Windows RT 8.1 is set to be unveiled.

This time Microsoft has focused on the Surface Home Button driver to improve the reliability of the devices waking up immediately on the first button press.

Just as promised, the new firmware also comes with “updates for Surface Type Cover and Surface Touch Cover that improves functionality for both accessories. Includes the ability to toggle function keys, new shortcuts, and helpful keyboard navigation improvements,” Microsoft explained.

Just like all the other firmware updates, users can easily get it via Windows Update, so simply get your Surface RT tablet online to download and deploy the aforementioned improvements, but make sure that you fully charge the device before doing it.
