Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has made available for download new flavors of its Bing applications for Windows Phone while making some changes to their names in the process.

Apparently, all of the company’s mobile apps for Windows Phone are currently up to version 3.0.2.280, and all of them have lost the “Bing” part in their names.

Basically, following the update, the Bing News app will appear on devices as News, Bing Sports will be called Sports, Bing Weather becomes Weather, and so forth.

No other major changes have been spotted in these applications, and no specific info on why Microsoft decided to rename all of them has been provided either.

However, as WMPoweruser notes, those who will download and install the new app iterations will be able to take advantage of a series of small bug fixes and performance improvements included inside them.

For some users, it might prove a bit more difficult to find these applications following the update, since they were formerly all grouped together. However, the functionality of said apps hasn’t been affected by the change.

You can find version 3.0.2.280 of Bing News, Bing Sports, Bing Finance, Bing Food & Drink, Bing Health & Fitness, Bing Travel and Bing Weather listed on Softpedia today.
