Since Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, Microsoft used the occasion to create a new software category in the Windows Store in order to showcase the best apps for this event.

The new section comprises shopping, lifestyle, food & dining and entertainment apps that could help Windows 8 users get ready for Valentine’s Day straight from their Modern UIs.

“This Valentine’s Day, plan a night to remember. Use these apps to help you cook a romantic dinner, search for the perfect gift, or get ready for a night on the town,” the official description of the software category reads.

While most of the apps are available with a freeware license, a couple of them still require users to pay for a license, but they won’t have to spend more than $4.99 (€3.68) for the available apps.
