The first handset in the world to run under the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system right out of the box has already landed on shelves, in the form of Nokia Lumia 630, and Microsoft has decided to tout a series of free apps that could easily prove more than welcome on the device.

One of these is Evernote, which is also available on Nokia X handsets, and which will help users remember things to do, ideas, and more, while also offering fast syncing across devices.

Next, there’s Bing Health & Fitness, which will go along just fine with the new SensorCore technology included inside the Nokia Lumia 630.

With this application, users will be able to easily keep track of how many steps they have taken, the amount of burned calories, miles walked, and the like.

Next, there’s Instagram, which has already become one of the most popular content sharing applications on mobile devices, and which is also available for free.

“More than 200-million people are using Instagram; all sharing, liking, and commenting under one roof. Join them by adding effects to your photos and letting the world discover your creativity,” a recent post on Nokia Conversations reads.

For those interested in listening to their favorite songs while on the go, Nokia MixRadio seems like a great option, especially due to its ability to deliver personalized music, built around songs that users love the most.

“Whether you’re a music junkie dancing the dark hours away, or someone who simply likes to spend a Sunday afternoon reading the paper while listening to some jazz, MixRadio’s got you covered,” the aforementioned blog post notes.

And if you hear a song that you like but don’t know what it’s called, there’s Shazam to help you with that. The app can recognize music, while also providing users with links to download or buy tracks and albums.

Instant messaging is yet another popular activity on mobile devices, and Microsoft claims that Viber can easily prove a great option for Nokia Lumia 630 users interested in the matter.

The application comes with support for sharing messages and photos, while also providing users with calling capabilities, all straight on their smartphones and all for free.

“Viber is available on many different smartphones and platforms, including desktop. Meaning you can send a message on your phone and your mate will pick it up on their PC, which is pretty clever stuff,” Microsoft explains.

Vine is another popular app that is available for Lumia 630 users out there, allowing them to create short videos and to share them with their friends and family at ease.

Those who would like to use their smartphones for leisure will be able to opt in for a variety of games, such as Asphalt 8: Airborne, which was released on Windows Phone recently, and which can provide users with an appealing racing experience.
