Microsoft Touch Mouse TUI.TAR

TUI.TAR is the winning project of the UIST Student Innovation Contest in the Most Creative category, and you need to view the video above in order to get an idea of just exactly qualified the team from Wellesley College for the accolade.

Essentially, the Microsoft Touch Mouse was transformed into a “musical instrument,” if you can call it that.

“TUI.TAR [is an] air guitar-inspired tangible user interface for digital music creation and performance,” revealed Microsoft Research’s Rob Knies.

The Wellesley College students went home with a $1,500 prize, and all they had to do is innovate using the Microsoft Touch Mouse and the Touch Mouse API.
