Gamers can get the Xbox One, the 360 or the PC version of the shooter

Larry Hryb, also known as Major Nelson, the main communications officer for the gaming division of Microsoft, announces that all those who are interested in Titanfall can buy it with a 33 percent price cut on Amazon, for the Xbox One, the 360 or the PC.

In a Twitter feed, the executive states that the deal will be offered for only one day.

The price reduction is significant and quite unusual for a title like Titanfall, which was only officially launched one month ago on the Xbox One and the PC, with the Xbox 360 version coming just two weeks ago.

The big deal might be a result of the NPD Group sales numbers for the month of March for the United States market that were revealed on Friday.

They showed that the PlayStation 4 from Sony outsold the Xbox One despite the launch of Titanfall.

Microsoft might be looking to generate a big boost in sales for its next-gen home console by slashing the price of its most high-profile recent release.

Developer Respawn Entertainment has already launched a number of free updates for the first-person shooter, mainly designed to improve balance and to introduce private matches.

A full downloadable content pack will be delivered in May with three new maps.
