Halo 3 is now for sale, or should I say "was for sale"?

Some gamers out there have already bought Halo 3 from one of the Argos' branches, a week earlier than the official launch of the game. The retailer seems to have done a serious mistake, since Microsoft seems furious that its best Xbox 360 title so far hit the market earlier than scheduled. Argos claimed that the whole thing was a "genuine mistake". The retailer also claimed that they had to deal with an administrative error and only a few gamers could buy the title.

Immediately after finding out about the broken street date, Microsoft threatened to ban all the early Halo 3 buyers, changing its mind afterwards. This incident couldn't stay hidden as many pictures and Halo 3 accounts started surfacing on the Internet, confirming those lucky gamers are playing the Bungie's masterpiece right now.

There wasn't a single blockbuster title launch recently without some incident happening. Silent Hill Origins got its demo leaked on the Internet, just before the Games Convention and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII appeared on torrent sites a day before the official launch. Now, it's Halo 3's turn to break the street date and frustrate the fans waiting for its release. I'm sure that a person who already owns the game could be the victim of a few fatal beatings if an angry mob of gamers saw him with the Halo 3 case in hand.

Microsoft has all the reasons to be furious, as we've first seen Halo 3's ending video being made available on YouTube and various other sites, spoiling many people's fun and now this early unscheduled release comes to ruin the day. Thank God that Bungie's title wasn't leaked on torrents as we could have seen a World War-type campaign started by Microsoft, in order to remove the title from the Internet.
