Microsoft is reportedly testing a new Bing homepage design that showcases the popular searches right on the main page using small image thumbnails displayed in a live slider.

While we can’t see the new design at the time of writing this article, WinBeta.org notes that some Windows 8 users have actually spotted it while accessing Bing with Internet Explorer 10.

The new layout doesn’t seem to be available on Chrome and Firefox on Windows 7, Windows 8 or Mac OS X, so it was most likely just a new test version rolled out by Microsoft.

According to the same source, the thumbnails slide up from the bottom of the screen, but the bar can be completely minimized if you don’t want to see the popular search on the homepage.

It remains to be seen whether Microsoft will introduce this particular feature to all users, as only a few people are actually capable to give it a try right now.
