Microsoft's Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has confirmed today that the company recently completed development of a new build of Windows 10 Mobile that's very likely to be released to testers this week.

Windows 10 Mobile build 10080 is currently being tested by Redmond's employees, Aul confirmed, and the public release could take place later this week.

“It takes a couple days to evaluate quality telemetry from Microsoft ring,” Aul added, trying to explain why it takes so long to bring a new build to the market although it's already available for company employees.

To support Lumia 930 and Icon

Windows 10 Mobile preview build 10080 will be the first version aimed at phones that will bring support for Lumia 930, Microsoft's 5-inch flagship that's expected to receive a successor later this year.

In addition to Lumia 930, the new Windows 10 Mobile build will also work on Lumia Icon, so Microsoft is bringing the preview on the majority of Windows Phone devices currently on the market.

For starters, the first Windows 10 for phones build that Microsoft rolled out on February 12 brought support for only 6 devices, including Lumia 830 and 735, whereas the next release extended the list to more handsets, including the Lumia 1520 phablet.

Due to bugs found at the very last minute, Microsoft decided to let Lumia 930 out of the Windows 10 party, so the upcoming release will finally allow owners of the 5 incher try out the new OS.

The new build is expected to include a new Xbox app, plenty of refinements across the operating system, as well as an overhauled Office productivity suite that was previously scheduled to go live in late April.

Microsoft pushed back the release for a couple of weeks due to issues it found in the software, so the upcoming release will come with a lot of surprises for users.
