On September 4, during the IFA 2014 trade fair in Berlin, Microsoft is expected to make official a new Lumia smartphone, and the company has already started teasing it online.

In a recent post on Nokia Conversations, the company has revealed that the phone’s launch will kick off on September 4 at 10AM CET, and that a webcast will be available for those who won’t be present there.

“We’re looking at you! Join us for a very special webcast live from Berlin, Germany on September 4, 2014 at 10am CET to find out what we’ve got in store,” said post reads.

At the same time, the company has attached a selfie to said post, thus suggesting that the upcoming device will be centered around this feature.

Previous reports on the matter had already suggested that the company was working on a selfie phone, and that it might be released in the form of Lumia 730.

Apparently, Stephen Elop showed the device during an internal meeting about three weeks ago, stressing on the fact that it would be released with a good front-facing camera.

Rumor has it that the handset will arrive on the market with a 5-megapixel front camera, as well as with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display.

The smartphone should be launched in both single- and dual-SIM versions, a recent article on The Verge reads. Moreover, an LTE-enabled flavor is also rumored to be in the cards, supposedly called Lumia 735.

Provided that the teaser image attached to said blog post indeed comes from the Lumia 730, it means that the device will be able to deliver appealing performance capabilities when it comes to its front camera.

What remains to be seen, however, is whether the phone’s front camera sensor will indeed be a 5-megapixel one or not.

In the meantime, we should also note that Microsoft might announce two Lumia smartphones on September 4, and that the second one could be the Lumia 830.

This phone made it to the headlines a few times before too, supposedly set to arrive on shelves as the first mid-range Lumia to feature a PureView camera on the back (a 20-megapixel sensor, rumor has it).

Both smartphones should run under the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 operating system version right from the start, and are expected to become available for purchase in the coming weeks.

However, no official confirmation on either of them has been provided as of now, and it remains to be seen whether the info above will pan out or not.
