Microsoft might have purchased Nokia’s Devices and Services division in order to ensure that new, highly appealing Windows Phone handsets will continue to arrive on shelves, but it seems that it hasn’t left aside Nokia smartphones that are powered by other platforms either.

Nokia X is one such example, as Microsoft is currently teasing the Evernote application as available for it, as well as for other handsets in the series.

“Evernote turns your phone into an extension of your brain. While the thought of an organically attached phone springs to mind, the reality is much simpler, and thankfully far less painful,” a recent post on Nokia Conversations reads.

Evernote is a note-taking application that has become highly popular on mobile phones over the past several years, and which has been available on Nokia Lumia handsets for quite some time now.

The mobile app can be downloaded and installed on Nokia X phones as well, and Microsoft is currently teasing its capabilities for all those who purchased the Android-based device.

“With Evernote available on Nokia X and Lumia, as well as most mobile and computing platforms, your phone is equipped to remember anything and everything that your day, week, month or year will throw at you,” the aforementioned blog post reads.

Taking notes with this mobile application is very simple, thus allowing users to easily remember important things throughout the day, regardless of whether that involves items to buy from a store, new ideas, or important things discussed during a meeting.

What’s more, Evernote also comes with support for photos, meaning that users can easily insert images in their notes, along with other content.

“Notes alone are often useful enough, but Evernote also includes a photo function and a voice recording, enabling you to add snapshots and audio of all those little moments,” said blog post explains.

Evernote also features cloud integration and automatic syncing, which means that any notes taken on a Nokia X will be accessible from other devices instantly.

“Everything is synced instantly with the cloud, allowing you to access these notes from anywhere you’ve got an internet connection. Make a change on another device and it’ll be updated on your Lumia and/or Nokia X family,” Microsoft adds.

The Evernote application for Nokia X devices is available for download through the Nokia Store (as a refresher, we should note that Nokia launched the phone with a forked Android version on top, which lacks support for official Google services, including the Play store).
