The recently leaked ads reveal that Microsoft is willing to teach users Windows 8

A total of four apparently official videos got leaked to the Internet a couple of days ago, revealing what seems to be a new marketing strategy prepared by the Redmond-based technology company.

Microsoft is fully aware of the fact that the changes it made to Windows 8 may confuse users, so the advertising campaign it prepares for the new operating system will play two different roles.

First of all, it will advertise the new product, just like any other promotional campaign in the world. But second of all, it will also try to teach users Windows 8.

The whole concept is pretty simple: Microsoft will demonstrate some very popular Windows 8 features in a bunch of advertisements, at the same time providing on-screen instructions on how to use them.

It’s a mix that seems to be focused on the tablet version of Windows 8 for the time being, but similar videos are expected to hit the Internet anytime soon.

Microsoft is fully prepared to launch one of the largest marketing campaigns ever released in the United States, with company execs pointing out that at least 1.6 billion impressions are expected to be generated after the product launch.

Peter Han, VP of Microsoft’s US OEM division, explained that Windows 8 advertisements would show up everywhere you look, including billboards, television and Internet.

“I can tell you, it's going to be difficult to tune in to your typical popular TV show or sports program and not see a Windows commercial in the next few months,” Peter Han told the audience of a North Carolina event.
