If Google services aren’t quite your cup of tea and instead of Google Maps you’re using Bing Maps, here’s something that should really please you.

Microsoft has recently rolled out a major update for Bing Maps that adds street-level imagery for more than 100 new cities, which basically allows you to view close-ups of your favorite places straight from the browser.

“We have been busy driving and flying to bring you more cities to view before you travel. We recently surpassed the 100-city mark for both our Streetside imagery and our 3D cities, and there are a host of vacation favorites among them,” the company explains.

“Drive right up to your destination with Streetside imagery. You can see Streetside imagery in both Bing Maps and the Bing Maps Preview app exclusively available on Windows 8.1. With this release, Streetside passes 100 cities and the count of close-up views of your favorite places keeps growing,” Microsoft adds.

Of course, Google Maps already provides such imagery for the locations now covered by Microsoft, as the Street View service already exists in the majority of US locations, but Redmond is working really hard to expand its product as much as possible.

You can check out the new cities that are now covered by street-level imagery in the picture included in the article, and a simple search on Bing Maps should let you see the new photos in a couple of seconds.
