Just like its RT sibling, the Surface Pro received a new firmware update this A.M. as part of the Patch Tuesday cycle supposed to bring improvements to Windows and other Microsoft products.

As it’s noted on the official Surface Pro update history page, the new version packs three major firmware and performance improvements, all of which are supposed to make the tablet faster and a bit more responsive.

“UEFI firmware update enables the PXE boot feature. This feature is only available when using the Surface Pro Ethernet Adapter due to the UEFI integration needed to implement PXE boot,” the release notes read.

In addition, the firmware update comes with improvements for the Trackpad Settings Driver for Surface Type Cover to enable interaction with the Trackpad Settings app for Japanese customers. Continued improvements in Wi-Fi connectivity and stability have also been implemented.
