Microsoft is already offering the Surface Pro with a protective cover that also serves as a keyboard, but here’s a new device that does a lot more than that.

ProKASE, a new project that’s now hoping to receive Kickstarter funds, can be attached to any Surface Pro in order to provide users with increased storage space and extra USB ports.

The protective enclosure is made of black soft leather or suede, with its creators promising to offer some limited-edition models as well. It comes with two extra USB ports and two microSD card readers for increased storage capacity, all covered in high-density polyethylene and ABS to protect the tablet.

The project needs $55,000 (€42,500) by April 18, 2013 and ProKASE creators promise to offer some truly unique goodies to all those who wish to support the fundraising. In case you want to donate $5,999 (€4,635) or more, you qualify for a one-of-a-kind 3D printed case.
