Microsoft officially unveiled the Surface Pro 3 on May 20, during a press event in New York, but the device was previously available in the United States and Canada exclusively.

But as announced earlier this month, consumers in 25 new markets can now get their hands on a Surface Pro 3, as Microsoft has joined forces with lots of retailers across the world to bring the tablet closer to buyers.

All Surface Pro 3 models would be available in these markets, Microsoft said, including the entry-level i3 configuration and the top-of-the-range unit that runs an Intel Core i7 CPU.

“The next 24 hours are huge for Microsoft and Surface fans everywhere. Starting just minutes from now in New Zealand, retailers and resellers in 25 additional geographies will begin selling Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 versions of Surface Pro 3 to the general public – bringing the total to 28 markets, including Canada, Japan and the United States,” the company has announced in a statement today.

As you might know, the company also launched a pre-order program for all these new markets, so in case you pre-ordered the Surface Pro 3 and you’re living in one of the countries listed below, the device should be shipped to your door today.

These are the countries where the Surface Pro 3 should be available starting today: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

At the same time, Microsoft has also announced that the Surface Pro 3 docking station can be pre-ordered from any of these locations, with shipments to begin on September 12.

Of course, the company hasn’t missed the occasion to praise the Surface Pro 3, putting emphasis on its productivity and mobility features to explain that it’s just the perfect device to replace your laptop.

“When we talk about Surface Pro 3, we always start with productivity, or said another way, the ability to get more done. But we don’t just mean it in the context of work. Because the truth is, our lives don’t fit into tidy columns,” the company says.

“That’s not how life works. In real life, people reply to emails or tweet while they watch their favorite shows. Or capture moments of inspiration while reading a good book. Or view class notes side-by-side with the night’s homework. Surface Pro 3 removes the conflict between consuming or creating—it empowers you to do both.”

As usual, it’s up to the user to decide whether the Surface Pro 3 can indeed replace a laptop, even though it’s pretty obvious that it might have what it takes to fully accomplish this goal.
