Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2 is now up for grabs and it comes with lots of hardware upgrades and an improved operating system, both comprising a mix supposed to make the device a much better choice than rivals.

As far as the mechanical side is concerned, only little has changed, with the folks over at iFixit giving the Surface Pro 2 an overall score of 1 out of 10 for repairability.

This means that it’s almost impossible to repair a broken Surface Pro 2, even though it’s hard to believe that anyone would try such a thing these days.

Basically, iFixit has found that both Microsoft used more adhesive for the display and the battery, while the company used a total of 90 screws to install all parts. The battery in particular is pretty difficult to replace, while both the LCD and the digitizer glass need to be removed together as Microsoft fused them during the installation process.
