Microsoft continues its advertising efforts for both the Surface and Windows 8, this time with a surprise appearance of the company’s first tablet in history in CBS drama Hawaii Five-0.

While this isn’t the first time when the Surface shows up on television, it’s pretty clear that Microsoft’s execs didn’t lie when they said that Windows 8 and Surface ads would be everywhere around.

This time, however, Officer Kono Kalakaua uses the tablet device on the hood of a car, showcasing not only the good-looking lockscreen, but also the blue Touch Cover and the built-in stand, as Neowin.net notes.

Microsoft has apparently missed one important thing. The Surface is being used to search for a license plate number and given the fact that it doesn’t offer 3G support, browsing the web in the woods isn’t quite possible. Still a good advertising effort though.

You can still use it with a hotspot device

My Surface was delivered on Oct. 26 and I love it. Presumably, in the Hawaii 5.0 scene, there was a Wifi hotspot nearby. Microsoft should do whatever it takes to get the word out about this fantastic device.
