Just as promised, Microsoft used this month’s Patch Tuesday update to release several performance improvements and bug fixes for both the Surface RT and the Surface Pro.

According to a post on the official support forums, the March cumulative update brings fixes to Wi-Fi reliability allowing for better roaming, but also improvements to the “limited” connectivity scenarios.

This means that Microsoft has finally decided to deal with the limited Wi-Fi connectivity issue that’s affecting plenty of Surface RT and Pro tablets.

In addition, the patches resolve issues with the integrated volume button, while also improving Type and Touch cover typing experience on soft surfaces and when the devices and keyboard are lying flat.

Last but not least, this month’s updates are expected to fix an issue with random sound muting and to bring trackpad performance improvements.
