Microsoft has recently announced that its Surface tablet has recently been appointed the official technology partner for We Make Movies, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization of filmmakers.

This means that members of the organization can use the Surface Pro for various tasks that would greatly enhance the work of image technicians and writers.

“The power and portability of Surface Pro are perfect for today’s young filmmaker and the passion and community behind We Make Movies makes this a wonderful partnership,” Markus Weickenmeier, Surface manager, said.

“We have been working for several months now with digital image technicians, writers and producers that are discovering the Surface Pro as a great tool for today’s filmmaker.”

The Surface is slowly but surely becoming a very successful product, as Microsoft has serious difficulties in keeping up with demand and many models are still out of stock right now, including both the RT and the Pro version of the second-generation Surface.
