Microsoft has just announced that its Surface tablet was appointed the Official Tablet Partner of the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which means that the device was used to power several services during the GRAMMY Nominations LIVE! show.

“Surface 2 was the official tablet that powered The Recording Academy’s social feeds and this was a unique opportunity for us to give you a behind-the-scenes all access pass on everything that was happening,” the company said in a blog post.

This is just another attempt coming from Redmond in order to make sure that the new Surface is actually more successful than the first generation, as the company rolled out the second-generation only a few months ago.

The Surface 2 comes with upgraded hardware, including an improved Nvidia Tegra processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a full HD display, all promising to offer enhanced battery life and better performance.
