The company starts shipments of the new Surface model in the UK

The new Surface 2 with 4G connectivity is now available in the United Kingdom as well, as Microsoft today started shipments of the new device which is available both online via the company's store or at a couple of local retailers.

The Surface 2 with 4G comes with 64 GB of storage space and can be yours for 539 British pounds ($913 / 655 euros). In addition, it also comes with Office 2013 RT, which comprises Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook tweaked to work on Windows RT devices.

In the United Kingdom, the Surface 2 with 4G is available online from Microsoft's very own store, or from Currys and PC World.

The device is also part of a special launch promo that provides users with 200 GB of OneDrive storage for two years and unlimited landline calls on Skype for one year.

“When you put a file on OneDrive, it’s with you on all of your internet-enabled devices. Get free Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote in your browser with OneDrive and free Office Web Apps. To activate your free 200GB of OneDrive storage, just use the code included in your Surface or Surface Pro 2 packaging,” Microsoft says in the new promo.

The Surface 2 is powered by an Nvidia Tegra processor and features a 10.6-inch full HD display. The only storage option with 4G is the 64 GB model.
