Just like the RT sibling, the Surface 2 received a firmware update on Patch Tuesday, getting fixes for many of the issues found by Microsoft after launch.

For example, the new firmware version, which is now being delivered to users via Windows Update, comes to resolve an issue causing screen dimming during CPU intensive operations, while also decreasing charge time for batteries.

It also optimizes the two-finger trackpad use and comes with an update to support additional external displayed.

Skype video quality has also been improved, while the new firmware resolves a delay experienced during restart when Bluetooth devices are connected.

As mentioned, the firmware update is being delivered through the integrated Windows Update, so no user input is required. Just make sure that your tablet is fully charged before installing the new firmware.
