The Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has worked out a plan to open several new stores across the United States in the next few months, in an attempt to get its products closer to potential buyers.

The company’s first store in Hawaii has generated a surprising excitement locally, as more than 1,000 people have lined up for the opening of the new location.

The first 2,500 people waiting in front of the store received free tickets to a concept at the Kakaako Waterfront park, while the first 200 will get special wristbands to be granted access to a meet-and-greet session with music group Neon Trees.

The new store will obviously sell the newest Microsoft products, including the new Windows 8, Surface tablets, the Office productivity suite, gaming consoles, and a wide array of accessories.
