Microsoft’s officially introduced the second-generation Surface tablet in October and since then, both the model running Windows RT 8.1 and the Pro version have gone out of stock several times.

While without any accurate numbers it’s hard to determine whether it’s the amazing success of the tablets or Microsoft just made fewer tablets to make sure that no losses are recorded, the company still has serious issues when it comes to making more units available to buyers.

The Surface Pro 2, which is running the full version of Windows 8.1 Pro, is experiencing probably the biggest demand of all models currently on sale.

At this point, two out of four Surface Pro 2 models are unavailable and are listed as out of stock on Microsoft’s online website, even though the software giant promised to bring more units to the market after the holiday season.

The 64 GB and the 256 GB versions of the Surface Pro 2 cannot be purchased from Microsoft’s online store, so in case you really want to buy such a tablet, your only option is to either go for the 128 GB or 512 GB packages or simply find another retailer.

The Surface Pro 2 has received some significant updates, so it’s being powered by Windows 8.1 Pro and comes with four different storage options ranging in between 64 GB and 512 GB.

The display is a 10.6-inch full HD unit which is very durable, according to Microsoft, while the processor is a 4th generation Intel Core i5 optimized for longer better life and enhanced performance.

Of course, the tablet still comes with a wide array of connectivity options, including a full-size USB 3.0 port, a microSD card reader, headphone jack, mini display port, two 720p HD cameras, Bluetooth 4.0, and several other options that make it one of the most powerful (and expensive) tablet out there.
