Microsoft fanboys, behold: the Redmond-based technology company has just started shipping Surface RT tablets, so the first buyers should get their devices on October 26.

Microsoft has begun sending out emails informing those who preordered a Surface that their tablet is about to be shipped, so their credit card will be charged.

“If you ordered multiple products, they may be shipped separately. If that’s the case, you’ll get another mail like this one for each shipment you will receive,” Microsoft says in the sent email.

In the meantime however, all Surface versions got sold out in the United States and in several European countries, so in case you wish to buy one online, you may have to wait up to three weeks before receiving your tablet.

The cheapest version of the Surface, the one priced at $499 (€380), was sold out in less than 24 hours after the company rolled out the preorder program, while the other two versions did the same in about a week.

Microsoft is set to unveil the Surface tablet on October 25, alongside the brand new Windows 8 operating system, during a press conference that’ll take place in New York.

For the moment however, those who want to make sure they can get a Surface on October 26 are recommended to pay a visit to their local Microsoft Store and get a reservation pass for one device. The only thing you have to do is get in line in front of the Microsoft Store on October 26 at noon and wait for the grand unveiling of the product.
