Microsoft has finally launched the full version of Windows 8.1, so the company now wants developers to focus fully on this particular release of the operating system and submit more apps to the Store.

The company announced that all Windows 8.1 Preview apps sent for approval to the Store would be rejected from now on, as developers must start creating Modern tools that work on the final version of its OS update.

“For those of you who started working on your app with our Preview versions, you’ll first need to update your Preview environment to today’s release versions of Windows 8.1 and Visual Studio 2013. Packages built on prerelease versions won’t be accepted into the Store,” the company said.

The good side is that Windows 8.1 brought several new important apps in the Store, including the eagerly-awaited Facebook client that lets users connect to their social accounts straight from the Modern UI.
