14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft rolled out several new features in Windows 8.1, including a built-in Reading List tool that was available ever since the Preview build got to see daylight.
Now that Windows 8.1 RTM is just around the corner, the tech giant has started talking a bit about Reading List, explaining that it gives users the option to read content they find interesting at a later time.
“If you don’t have time to read an article or if you find something interesting you want to read later, you can save the reading for later with just a swipe to the share charm. And it’s not just content from websites. You can bookmark content from your other apps as well. This way, you can have all the content that you care about in one gorgeous app,” the company said.
Reading List is available via the share charm and can be used with Internet Explorer links that you want to save for later reading.
One of the greatest features is the synchronization feature that allows users to bookmark a link on a Windows 8 device and read it on a different one, including tablets and mobile phones.
Reading List is pre-installed on all Windows 8.1 device and is available for free for all adopters of Microsoft’s upcoming operating system.
“The Reading List is designed for the way you use your device. We believe your Windows device should reflect that right from the first moment you power it on. With a swipe to the share charm, the Reading Lists bookmarks content you care about from the sources you trust – all in one experience,” the company continued.
Windows 8.1 will be released to users on October 18, with the update to be available for free via the Windows Store to all those who have already installed the core Windows 8 operating system.
