Microsoft has completely redesigned some of the apps available in Windows 8.1, so in order to make sure that users do manage to make the most of them, the company is now bringing each updated tool in the spotlight.

The popular Xbox Music, for example, has been redesigned to make it easier for users to manage and listen to their music without leaving the Modern UI.

The app features a completely new design and incorporates the company’s new Bing Smart Search that helps you find musicians, bands, and artists in a couple of seconds.

“Xbox Music in Windows 8.1 is designed around three pivots: your music collection, radio, and the Xbox Music Store (called Explore). Enthusiasts will see a real difference over Xbox Music in Windows 8. A few things worth noting, playback controls are no longer hidden and you can now control the volume specific to Xbox Music separately from the master volume of your device,” Microsoft explained.

At the same time, the tech giant has implemented a brand new feature that makes it possible to create playlists from any website storing audio content.

“Coming to Xbox Music with Windows 8.1 on Oct. 18th – you will have the ability to use the Share charm in Windows 8.1 to share a webpage from the browser and have Xbox Music build a playlist based off any music it finds from that webpage (called Web Playlist)! Literally the web can start to be your front door to your music experience,” it noted.

As far as Windows 8.1 is concerned, the final version is scheduled to be unveiled on October 18, but several leaked ISOs are already available for download right now.

Windows 8 adopters will be allowed to download the update free of charge from the Store, while the stand-alone ISOs will be launched one day later.
