Microsoft is already working on its very own smartwatch, according to people close to the matter, but the company doesn’t want to comment on this project, as it usually refuses to provide any information on products that are still under development.

And still, thanks to rumors that are available right now, talented designers across the world manage to create impressive concepts that look really beautiful and demonstrate that Microsoft enthusiasts really need such a device.

So is the case of Phone Designer, who has until now come up with some really good-looking concepts. The so-called Microsoft Sport Smartwatch concept is based on the existing rumors and comes with a really appealing design that could also allow it to be used as a fitness band.

The concept is entirely based on rumors

There’s no doubt that this design looks really awesome, but probably the most important thing is that its creator used speculation that reached the web in the past few months to build it.

As you can see for yourselves by browsing the photo gallery below, the concept adopts a really slim design for the smartwatch in order to be in line with some leaks pointing to a fitness band-like form factor for the device.

As usual, chances are that Microsoft’s smartwatch, if it ever gets the chance to see daylight, would come with a completely different design, but there’s no doubt that Redmond would do itself a favor to adopt such an idea.

Microsoft’s smartwatch could provide cross-platform support

Microsoft’s smartwatch could be one of the first devices that would throw the software giant into the wearables market, which is still in its incipient stage right now.

The smartwatch, however, would be supposed to compete against similar devices coming from Samsung and Apple, as the fruity named company is also expected to introduce its very own product this month together with the new iPhone 6.

Redmond, however, is ready to pull the ace up its sleeve and make the smartwatch cross-platform compatible, which means that instead of working only with Windows Phone, the device would also support Android and iOS devices.

At the same time, word is that Microsoft’s smartwatch would come with dedicated sensors to monitor heartbeats and help keep an eye on your exercises.

People close to the matter have said that internal prototypes come with a display placed inside of the wrist because Microsoft’s researchers discovered that looking at such a screen would require a “much more natural move.”

Of course, there’s nothing confirmed so far, but Microsoft’s smartwatch is rumored to debut in 2015, which means that the company won’t say anything about it until the end of the year.
