ExecTweets is a project sponsored by Microsoft, designed to allow the public “easy access” to top business executives. Launched into Beta stage, ExecTweets was in fact built by Federated Media, in partnership with the Redmond company, and is powered by Twitter. The service is set up as a platform centralizing the tweets of business executives, divided by industry. Users can navigate the tweets available spread across various categories including media/advertising, retail and technology but also recommend and executive tweeter.

“There are over 100,000 C-level executives on Twitter today but it's difficult to know how to find them, which to follow, and where the most important conversations are happening. Not anymore,” revealed Matthew DiPietro Federated Media Marketing manager. DiPietro emphasized that ExecTweets aimed to be a tool that would connect users in real time to business executives via Twitter.

At the same time, ExecTweets represents a monetization model for Twitter. Representatives of the service indicated that, although sponsoring requests such as the one made by Microsoft were not lacking, limited resources prevented them from actually carrying out such projects. In fact, the Redmond company's ExecTweets was up and running thanks to Federated Media, the company that put the website together. The current tweets on ExecTweets are being harvested from Twitter automatically, but the service gives authors the possibility to have their content, as well as account removed from the website.

“ExecTweets cuts through the clutter and provides only the most relevant and insightful business-focused conversations - all curated and aggregated into industry verticals like Healthcare, Retail, Finance and more. You can now easily find the best, most important conversations happening between influencers in your industry. You can also nominate executives to be included in ExecTweets (your boss will be flattered),” DiPietro added.
