The inaugural World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) developer conference will be streamed live starting at 8:30am PST today, November 15, 2011, Microsoft revealed.

The Redmond company has played a key role in supporting the W3Conf: Practical Standards for Web Professionals, providing financial backing for the event.

According to the software giant’s Carter Rabasa, Microsoft is the host sponsor of the first ever W3C conference, with the company’s contribution being recognized on the official W3Conf site.

“Microsoft is proud to support open Web standards and developer education through events such as W3Conf. Microsoft has funded the event venue, the meals, the video streaming, the site design, and helped with the event planning and logistics,” it is noted in a message detailing the top W3Conf sponsor.

W3Conf: Practical Standards for Web Professionals is held in Redmond, between November 15 and 16.

“W3Conf: Practical Standards for Web Professionals is chock full of industry speakers talking to developers and designers about HTML5 and related technologies for the open web platform. Our very own Giorgio Sardo, Rey Bango and Paul Cotton will be representing Microsoft among a long list of industry luminaries,” Rabasa noted.

On November 14 there were still a number of tickets available, but those users who can’t make it to Redmond, can still access all the content online.

“The sessions will be streamed live and available after the event on demand,” Rabasa promises. “You can catch the live streaming here from 8:30am PST on Tuesday November 15 and 16, and on demand afterwards from the session listing on the home page here."
