14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has just announced some of the most popular classic games of all time that are still available on Windows operating system can now be installed on the Windows Phone platform.
No less than three smash hits that have been entertaining Windows users for at least 20 years, can now be downloaded for free via Windows Phone Store: Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Microsoft Mahjong and Microsoft Minesweeper.
Although their core gameplay has been kept the same, Microsoft added some tweaks and improvements meant to bring a modern side to these classics: “now those games have been redesigned for a new generation of players and devices.”
This means that while playing any of these three games, players will be able to earn achievements, compete with friends, submit scores to leaderboards and track personal gameplay stats.
There's more to it, as Windows Phone fans getting these games will be able to play, pause and resume their gameplay sessions across their smartphones, PCs and even tablets.
For those too young to had been played Microsoft Solitaire Collection's this is a classic card game that includes popular variations of solitaire including Klondike, Spider, FreeCell and TriPeaks.
Microsoft Mahjong is another classic matching game which has been graphically enhanced with “beautiful imagery, intuitive controls, and all the features that fans of mahjong have come to expect.”
Players will be able to complete multiple puzzles at three levels of difficulty, which makes the game suitable for both mahjong beginners and experts. It is also worth mentioning the Windows Phone version of the game features an improved Undo system, so players can rewind to fix mistakes.
Last but not least, Microsoft Minesweeper is a logic game that's been improved to offer a slightly better visual and sound experience. The game plays as a puzzle and features multiple levels of difficulty.
You can now download Solitaire, Mahjong and Minesweeper for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind the games are only compatible with Windows Phone 8 devices.
